About
Hi, I’m Rahul Singhal. A Psychologist & Counsellor, with a background in Clinical Psychology, Guidance and Counselling, and doctoral training in Clinical Psychology. My work is centred on helping people better understand themselves, their emotions, relationships, and the challenges they may face at different stages of life. I believe that reaching out for psychological support is "not a sign of weakness—it is an act of self-awareness and courage". Sometimes, we may feel overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or simply unsure about what we are experiencing. Having a safe space to talk, reflect, and make sense of these experiences can be an important first step towards change.
My approach to counselling is "empathetic, non-judgemental, collaborative, and person-centred". I aim to create a comfortable and accepting environment where you can talk openly about what you are going through and feel heard without fear of criticism or judgement. My work draws on "evidence-based psychological approaches", including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), behavioural interventions, psychoeducation, and supportive counselling. Rather than simply focusing on the problem, I work collaboratively with individuals to understand the relationship between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, develop healthier coping strategies, strengthen self-awareness, and identify practical ways forward.
I have a particular interest in supporting “young adults, university students, working professionals, LGBTQ+ individuals, and older adults”. I also work with concerns related to “stress and anxiety, emotional well-being, relationships, academic and life challenges, behavioural concerns, adjustment difficulties, self-confidence, and feeling stuck or overwhelmed”. I believe that “no two people experience a problem in exactly the same way”. Counselling therefore should not be a one-size-fits-all process. Your experiences, values, relationships, strengths, and circumstances all matter. My role is to understand your perspective and work alongside you in a way that feels meaningful and appropriate for you.
Ultimately, my goal is not simply to help you get through a difficult period. It is to help you develop a better understanding of yourself, build emotional resilience, strengthen confidence, and develop practical skills that can help you navigate future challenges. You don't have to have everything figured out before seeking support. Whether you are dealing with emotional distress, relationship difficulties, stress, academic or life pressures, behavioural concerns, or simply feel that something in your life isn't quite right, counselling can provide a space to pause, reflect, understand, and move forward.
